Clayton has been with Crewcut for a little shy of a year and put in the work to make it a success. With over 100 regular clients, that definitely shows. He aims to grow the business to 125-140 clients by the end of their second season in hopes of supporting himself and his eldest son, who currently helps out two days a week.

Before starting a career in lawn care, Clayton worked as a National Manager for PGG Wrightson for 10 years and did some months as a casual contractor. The advice of a good friend (and fellow Crewcut colleague) eventually pushed him to invest in a lawn care franchise, finding Crewcut to offer the best deal.

Clayton prides himself on his people skills, striving to build a friendly rapport with each customer and treating their property with the highest standard as if it were his own. With a "can do" attitude, he always goes the extra mile.

Reflecting on his own experience, Clayton advises newcomers each customer has different needs, and to deliver the results they want. Don't be afraid to ask industry experts for opinions and advice. Don't try to push your way onto your clients, but be ready to give your unbiased opinion.

When Clayton is not providing high-quality lawn care services, he enjoys the thrill of the hunt and spending time in the outdoors with friends and family.

Micheal from Ashburton is one of Crewcut's newest franchisees.

What attracted Micheal to lawn mowing as a career was doing a job that would help him stay active and work outside, which he feels is a bit like farming. He chose Crewcut for its reputation of having high standards when it comes to results.

With the help of his Masport lawnmowers, ride-on lawnmower, Stihl line trimmer, hedge trimmer, blower, and chainsaws, Micheal provides his clients with expert lawn mowing, hedge trimming, and section clearing.       

While he currently works alone, Micheal wishes to grow the Crewcut brand in Mid Canterbury so there is a team that can help each other if needed. His goal for the immediate future is to grow his own customer base to at least a hundred. His best skill on the job is the motivation to leave a lawn that is pleasing to the eye.

When not mowing and trimming, Micheal enjoys spending time with family and practicing surf casting.

Chris and Cheryl have been with Crewcut for over four years. During this time, they managed to build their lawn care and garden maintenance business into a thriving franchise in Timaru.

Before joining the world of lawn care, Chris worked as a logistics manager. But somewhere down the road, the desire to change his lifestyle, become his own boss, and work outside the four corners of a room made him jump into an exciting opportunity with Crewcut.

Now with the help of his wife Cheryl, their Husqvarna and Masport tools, excellent customer service, and attention to detail, the couple works on growing the Crewcut brand by offering top-quality services in Timaru and Temuka.

The biggest thing Chris and Cheryl have learned since joining the lawn care industry is that the Crewcut team really wants you to succeed and offers their support in realising that. Their advice for newcomers is clear: make sure you get the right equipment and do not take on too much work when starting out.

When the couple isn't working on mowing lawns and trimming hedges, they enjoy quality family time, which includes adventurous activities such as camping, windsurfing, and rugby.
