You’ll find Luis all over Kawerau mowing lawns, and cleaning up gardens. Luis was with Crewcut in Rotorua but made the move to the Bay of Plenty area when the opportunity arose. His gear includes a ride on mower, push mower, weed eater, blower, and garden tools. He uses primarily Stihl products.

Prior to Crewcut, Luis was in the dairy farming industry for over 10 years. He saw a Crewcut ad on Facebook and remembered his partner’s cousin is an operator in Hamilton. So he got in touch with him to see how the business worked, and from then on he was sold. He now wants to grow his business as much as he can and maintain it for the rest of his life.

When he gets a break and the weather is right, Luis loves to go out camping and fishing to unwind and relax. When he was back in Uruguay he also had experience with lawns and gardens by working on commercial contracts such as maintaining the lawns and gardens of a cemetery.

The biggest thing he has learnt since joining Crewcut is dealing with all the different customers he meets. His advice to those thinking about buying a lawn mowing business is to take the time to really think about the business you’re getting into. Also, make sure to stay calm when the difficult times come through such as rough weather and unhappy customers.
